Do you want a flatter, more youthful looking stomach? Stomach Flattening Exercises are the answer.

Let’s get right to it — If you are like most of us, there are two very different things you need to do:

1. Strengthen your abs (abdominal muscles.)

2. Burn off the fat that is covering them.

Unfortunately, most exercises that are designed to do the first, will do little to help you with the second.

This is the point that so many people get frustrated and discouraged.

They do situps and crunches and leg lifts and many others until that can’t do any more — and still their belly resembles a keg more that a 6 pack.

But, take heart…

There are a few good Stomach Flattening Exercises you can try that will create — and uncover — your 6 pack abs:

The Plank:

This is pretty much like a push-up that got stuck half way — except you are on your elbows. Lie face-down on the floor — now lift yourself up on your elbows and toes (place your elbows directly under your shoulders). Try and keep your body straight. Hold this pose for 20 to 60 seconds, then lower and repeat for 3-5 reps.

The Bicycle:

Lie on the floor, face up this time and put your hands to the side of your head, behind your ears. Bring up your knees at a 45 degree angle. Pull your head and legs up and start “to pedal.” Touch each elbow to each opposite knee (left elbow, right knee — right elbow, left knee.) Keep doing these for 12-15 reps.

Vertical Leg Crunch:

Lie face up on the floor again and raise you legs straight up with knees crossed. Flex your abs to lift each shoulder blade off the floor as though trying to sit up. Lower your legs and repeat for 12-16 reps.

These exercises should very quickly start to get your stomach into tip top shape.

But remember, no one will ever see your sexy tummy if you don’t burn off the fat around your waistline first.

Get started by eating the right Fat Burning Foods to crank up your metabolism and then invest in — and USE! — a fat burning program that’s proven to work.

Smoothies are good for losing weight

Smoothies are good for losing weight

Obesity is very dangerous. It can bring many diseases with it. You need to lose weight for a variety of reasons.

People with ideal weight are more likely to be fit and active. They can enjoy better health and stay away from many illnesses. Not to mention, they look better than overweight people.

For all the above reasons, and mainly for health related reasons, you need to find ways to lose weight in a healthy manner. Weight loss is not impossible if you follow effective methods.

Here are some points to remember when trying to lose weight:

1. Many people are just crazy about fad diets. They want to lose weight within a couple of days, and they will go to any lengths to achieve this feat.

Many times, they will end up frustrated than before as they are unable to lose weight. Sometimes, they may lose weight temporarily, but gain it back again soon within short period of time.

So beware of fad diets which may prove harmful and ineffective in the long run. Instead of that, try to go for methods which help in long lasting weight loss.

2. Include a lot of fiber in your diet. Examples of high fiber foods are fruit, vegetables, cereals and pulses.

These can help in variety of ways. They contain less amount of calories and make you feel full much faster than other foods.

3. Increase protein intake. Proteins will help in building muscles. Your body needs to burn a lot of calories in order to maintain those muscles, which is good for weight loss.

4. Avoid too much sugar. This is bad for your weight. Keep it to a minimum if you want to stay lean.

The sugar that you eat can be turned into fat very fast. So you have to reduce eating foods that contain sugar.

5. Eat more frequently. Don’t be surprised with this statement. What I mean is to eat smaller and more frequent meals which will help in increasing your metabolism rate.

The trick is to break down your big meals into smaller ones. Eat 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of 3 large ones as this could be more effective for weight loss.

You should keep in mind to stay away from unhealthy methods of weight loss. Diet pills and the like, will not aid in permanent weight loss.

Moreover diet pills can cause a lot of side effects. You may end up spoiling your health after taking diet pills.

Keep in mind that you should begin with realistic goals about weight loss. Do not expect to lose lots of pounds within a few days.

Having a hectic schedule is the major reason why people don’t exercise. Finding the time to do it seems almost impossible. Usually, after a hard day’s work, you only want to go home and rest and perhaps stuff yourself with something unhealthy.

Based on our survey of 500 fitness buffs, about 28% of them exercise anytime they can, exactly the same percentage of people who prefer to workout in the evening. The most popular time to exercise is in the morning. Two hundred of those included in the survey train during that time of the day while the least preferred time is the afternoon.

The body has a natural rhythm which means that our energy levels fluctuate throughout the day. What is interesting is that our bodies adapt to our daily schedules of sleep, work and rest. We have more energy during the time of the day when our bodies anticipate a lot of work to be done based on previous behaviour.

If you train at 6 a.m. everyday, then your body will get the most from a workout that takes place at that exact time of day. Since your body has been conditioned to do work in the morning, exercising at any other time would not be as effective. Fortunately however, the difference is only minor and working out at a time that you are not really used to is still better than not working out at all.

Ideally, it would be best to exercise during the time of day when your energy level peaks, however you don’t really need to rearrange your life around this detail. The bottom line is: Just exercise, regardless of what time of day you do it!

The following are five tips to help you get some exercise time out of your hectic schedule.

1. Shorten your workout.
Do a 15 or 20-minute session instead of your usual hour or hour and a half. You can increase the intensity to make up for the shortened exercise time. Such “short but sweet” workouts can yield dramatic results.

2. Get up 30 minutes earlier.
Wake up half an hour earlier and do your exercises. Your body will adjust to the new schedule soon enough.

3. Have a 30-minute lunch.
Divide your lunch hour into two with 30 minutes of exercise and another 30 minutes of eating. Working out before eating will also curb your appetite enabling you to consume fewer calories.

4. Maximize baby’s nap time.
If you are a work-at-home parent, squeeze in some exercise when your baby goes down for a nap. A ten or 15-minute routine is fine. Do this at every opportunity, and by the end of the day you would be able to log in a total of about 20 or 30 minutes of exercise.

5. Create a complete workout routine.
Use your creativity to design a combination workout that you can perform 3 or 4 times a week. Your program should include both strength training exercises and cardio. A sample workout would be 10 minutes of weight training and 20 minutes of aerobic activity per session.

Don’t let your hectic schedule keep you from working out. You only need to be flexible and be ready to do what you can, when you can. If you’re serious about getting fit, your efforts will pay off. As they say, “If there’s a will, there’s (always) a way.”

Premium Blue Cheese is Good Food

Premium Blue Cheese is Good Food

“Great Food is a Revelation”

That’s a quote I have heard often from one of my favorite restauranteurs, Francis Schott of Stage Left and Catherine Lombardi
Restaurants.

What he means is that when you finally taste really great food you will know it.  Nothing else will EVER taste the same.

“That’s great, James – But how does this relate to losing weight and burning fat?”

Well — he also goes on to explain that with really good, quality food you often don’t need to eat as much to feel satisfied.

All of us have had that experience of “somehow” finishing off an entire bag of chips, or Doritos or M&M’s before we knew it was happening.

“Hey, how did the bag get empty?”

Potato chips, Fritos, Skittles — All Junk Food! — tastes good.  That’s why we eat it!  But ultimately, it’s unfulfilling.  That’s why we can polish off an entire bag or bowl without noticing.

Consider the last time you got a box of really good chocolates.  Chance are it lasted for several days if not weeks.  Sure the price may have had something to do with your “rationing” — but you also likely didn’t feel the need to eat more than a couple of piece at a time.  Possibly only one.

This is even more pronounce in my experience with everyday foods and drinks like cheese, beer and pastries.  I can have one small piece of a high quality blue cheese that I get from a local producer, or one (maybe 2 ;-)  Guinesses and a single Éclair and I’m good.

But place a party platter of cheese and meats, a 6 pack of Bud Light or a box of Little Debbies within reach and it’s Katy bar the door!

Important Note – I am NOT talking about parties or special events here.  People who know me, know I love to party and enjoy myself.  I really, REALLY hate to see someone who feels like they must stick to a strick diet during tailgating or a New Year’s Eve Party.  So sad.

If you can find some good, quality food at these events (or take some!) then by all means, enjoy it.  But if all there is is junk food — Well, enjoy that, too!  Life is too short and tomorrow is soon enough to start dieting again.

So Here is The Deal:

Give this “Quality Food Plan” a try.

Skip the American Slices, Corn Chips and HoHo’s and grab yourself some premium foods.

When you crave a snack, get a small piece or tiny handfull.

See if you are satisfied.  If not have another SMALL piece.  Chances are that will do it.

This is CERTAINLY not meant to replace a Fat Burning or other plan you are on and I am NOT a doctor.  But try it.  It may work for you.  It does for me.

And even if it doesn’t totally work — you still will be richer for trying the good stuff.

After all — “Great Food is a Revelation”

Are you looking for the ultimate fat burner?

It’s not what you think.

You are already aware that dieting and starving yourself is not a sustainable long-term solution for most of us.You like to be active and do a bit of physical activity.   So you just need to find the best exercise method to burn fat calories.

I am totally with you on that.

While I have never been what you would consider overweight, like most of us I struggle to maintain my weight and live a healthy lifestyle.Dieting never works for me because I enjoy life too much to ever like to starve myself — I believe life should be lived to the fullest.

But, like you, I don’t mind a bit of exercise and enjoy being active.

For me it’s riding my bicycle and playing golf with my buds. For you it may be running or walking or swimming or playing a sport such as soccer or basketball.

So just what is the ultimate fat burner?

Your attitude, that’s what.

If you’ve read this far, then you answered yes to the above questions and you already have within you the power and means to burn fat calories, lose weight and live a healthy and happy life.

So…I guess it really is “what you think” after all. ;-)
But, take care, because unfortunately not all exercise programs are created equal. You can actually gain addition fat — not just weight which may be healthy muscle weight, but actually gain extra fat — by exercising wrong.

Sounds impossible, I know.  But it is based upon our bodies need to store energy for the lean times.

Lean times seldom come around in today’s plentiful, “Supersize Me” society.

The question you need to ask is…   What is the best way to exercise to burn fat calories?    Our attitudes may be the ultimate fat burner but how do I put it to use with the best fat burner diet?

You can find out the answer in our free ebook “7 Secrets of Fat Loss and Fitness” at http://besthomecourses.com/FatBurningSecrets/

It is a good start to understand the science of things. You don’t need a bachelor’s degree to be able to make sense of calories and its good to be aware of what your working against. Each person will require a certain amount of calories to maintain body functions, such as breathing and digestion. So what is the right amount of calories for you? Follow these simple steps to measure the amount of calories you should be consuming throughout a typical day:

The first thing that you need to do is determine your basal metabolic rate or your BMR. This will tell you how many calories you would burn if you stayed in bed all day. It’s a good way to determine how many calories you need to intake. You can calculate your BMR by doing a Google search and using one of the online calculators that comes up in the search.

Determine your activity level. You can easily purchase a heart rate monitor from a number of different stores including Academy. Put one on and wear it all day long to help give you an accurate account of how many calories you have burned.

Maintain a daily diary of everything you eat and every activity you participate in. Make sure to count the calories in the foods and drinks that you have so that you can keep track of what is going in and out of your body.

Now you are going to take the number that you got as your BMR and add to that the number of calories that you burn throughout the day using your heart rate monitor. Subtract from that number the number of calories you have taken in because of food. If you get a positive number then you are on the right track to weight loss. If you get a negative number then you are on the road to gaining weight.

What you decide to eat at every meal, every day is a huge and important part of your weight loss journey. You are not just counting calories but trying to make healthier choices when you eat. Making dietary changes to improve not just your weight loss but your health are important. For example, you need to make sure that you are eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Enough cannot be said about the benefits of eating these things. Choose leaner meats, eat healthy and wholesome breakfasts like cereal, yogurt, fruit, and eggs.

As well as keeping track of what you eat, the exercises you perform on a weekly basis, are crucial to losing the extra pounds and toning up the body. It is recommended to do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. Depending on your level of fitness, that might include going for a brisk walk in the evening, or heading down to your local swimming pool. As you get accustomed to the exercise, step it up a little. Make progress by alternating a brisk walk one day, to a gentle jog the next. Don’t be afraid to push yourself a little more as time passes and the weight begins to drop.

Sometimes, exercise can be a daunting task, especially when you have to face it alone, or you are not sure which exercises will be the most beneficial to your personal goals. You might have ruled out a personal trainer because you think they are too expensive or work exclusively with the famous. Try to get this idea out of your head. Of course, a personal trainer doesn’t come for free, but they are also not so unreachable as you think in terms of availability and cost. They can be a huge help in guiding you towards the right exercises and the motivation they can give is unbeatable!

Finally, you need to keep your self-confidence up and stay motivated. These two things are key to losing weight and are habits you want to instill in yourself early on. Stay true to yourself and whatever you do, just keep it moving!

Cliff Pape is a Houston Personal Trainer who has trained and coached hundreds of Houstonians in their weight loss journey. He recommends that in addition to a good exercise program, everyone be involved in eating a healthy diet like the one prescribed in the Medifast program. Doing both will keep you healthy and strong and in shape!

Men — are you sick of hearing about how fine you used to be and how the only thing fine about you now is the wine that you drink? If the answer is yes, that is all about to change, as I can show you how to get rid of your beer fat without ever having to give up the beer! But let’s get down to business by discussing what a beer belly really is and understand what really causes it.

So, what is a beer belly? A beer belly is defined as a lump of fat thats taken up residence between your chest and what used to be your waist. Is it caused by beer? No. Science has proven the beer belly is fat caused by calorie build up, resulting from unhealthy diets and sedentary lifestyles. The abdomen is where men have their greatest deposit of fat cells so, if the body takes in a lot of calories and neglects to burn them through exercise, the body deposits that fat right in your stomach.

Now you know where the beer belly or should I say the hot wings belly comes from, next you have to decide what you are willing to do to reverse the curse. You can start by working on those fat cells that are spreading themselves on your stomach. Beer is not the direct cause of your waistline expanding, but it can be a factor. Alcohol makes you hungry, think Hot wings and Beer at Hooters (I mean the food is why you go, right?), so if you stopped drinking youd be taking a good step towards cutting down your calorie intake.

Lose the beer and you can also lose that increased appetite. But this article isn’t about getting rid of the beer; it’s about getting rid of the belly, so I won’t tell you to stop drinking. You could also exercise and burn more calories than the amount of calories you take in from drinking beer. But exercise too may sound like a lot of hard work. So for the purposes of this article, we will focus on the best beers for your belly!

So the first thing that comes to your mind when I say low calories is all those light beers that taste likewell you know, but How to Get Rid of the Beer Belly without Giving Up Beer is for real men who would never think of ordering one of “them there sissy light beers.”

So first up is a nice dark Guinness Draught, boasting 125 calories and 10 carbs its not a light beer but it does have a low calorie count and you wont have to drink 10 of them to make up for the lack of taste. Next up is Beamish Irish Stout, it has 131 calories but you still arent losing anything in the taste and your waist is happy. So drink responsibly and finish up with Busch, it has 133 calories and about 10 carbs.

So now you have the key to getting rid of your beer belly without having to but down the bottle. So the next time your wife or girlfriend tells you to get off the couch and lose some weight, go grab yourself another cold one, pop the bottle open and tell her you’re working on it now!

Dorthy Weatherbush is an expert on weight loss for specific body types and has studied the effect genetics has on how people lose weight. She has written lots of information on diets that work and has reviewed the Medifast diet.

Another excellent way to enjoy beer — and lose weight — is to make your own at home!

There are many ways to make this work — you control the ingredients so you can use only the best quality.  Also, since you make it in small quantities you may not burn through a ”case” quite so quickly.

But the main way making your own beer may help you to burn away fat is that if you eat or drink quality, you don’t need as much to feel satisfied.  We’ve discussed this before in this blog (see – http://besthomecourses.com/FatBurningSecretsBlog/great-food-is-a-revelation-the-best-food-can-help-you-lose-weight-too )

… but it’s really quite simple — the better the food or drink, the less we consume.

If that sound impossible to you, please read the previous posting.  I assure you it does work.

An article written in Times Magazine makes the case that regular exercise does not contribute to weight lose or weight gain. It continues to imply that the more one exercises the more weight would be gained. Exercise makes us hungry therefore we eat more. The more calories taken eat the fatter we become. Is this statement true? Doesn’t this go against what we have all heard how exercise keeps weight off not the other way around?

Many factors play a role in weight lose. Exercise is one and diet is the other. A rule of thumb has always been to burn more calories than you take in. Other circumstances apply here as well like genetics. Yet still there is no better formula for successful weight control than watching how many calories you eat and how much you cardio exercise yo do.

Americans waistlines have been steadily expanding since the’50’s. Americans are eating more processed foods. Most live a sedentary lifestyle. Too much smoking and drinking. Too much sitting in front of the television and not enough movement. No wonder America has a problem with childhood obesity.

Today, calories are not only abundant in our foods but are readily available for consumption. Frozen dinners packed with added fat and salt, tempting sugary cereal, over-processed and genetically altered foods all contribute to upending our normal food pyramid. Often these foods are less expensive to buy which may translate to the poorer populations more likely we’ll feel the effects of these unhealthy food choices.

The lack of movement in an average American life is contributing to weight gain. Is it better to be fat yet active or thin and inactive? Statistically speaking, more die because they are inactive. Americans need to get moving. Physical activity can be as simple as taking a walk. Just doing a few minutes each day of walking helps better your heart health and benefit weight control.

Yet if we choose to do nothing, more and more of Americans will spiral downward to being fat and unhealthy. Choosing to exercise is one way to fight the doom. Eating a diet that is low in fat and unwanted chemicals is another. If you are a parent, the time is right to instill upon your children the importance of fitness just as it is to eating healthy. Even schools are starting to see the big picture. Lunch programs are being revamped to provide healthier choices. Physical fitness programs are being re-established where at one time they were eliminated.

Exercise helps increase a child’s blood flow to the brain. Kids think clearer and concentration improves. Test scores rise dramatically. Physically fit kids are less prone to depression and when the child is not in school, parents look to after school programs like yoga or soccer. Families should make it a priority to find ways to bring physical activity into the family. Long walks around the neighborhood or riding bicycles are two ways families can spend quality time with their children.

Regular exercise in life does matter. Healthy living makes sense. Having to make good lifestyle choices is more important than ever and it’s never too late to start changing the way you live. You get one life. Make the right choices and you’ll go through it with more stamina, more strength and less stress. Sounds like winning formula.

Exercise matters at any age. Make time to stretch your muscles with the help of these fitness bands. Lightweight and easily transportable, these exercise bands are great way to fit in a little exercise. Perfect for all ages and abilities.

Everyone wants to burn fat fast. If you have ever been on a diet or workout regimen, you know how hard that can be.

There are two main areas that you have to pay attention to when you want to lose weight: diet and exercise. While this comes as no surprise to anyone, there are some things that you can do to increase the efficiency of your current routine.

Try incorporating some of the following changes into your life so your body starts to burn fat fast. You’ll shed unwanted weight faster.

Burn Fat Fast with Diet

Everyone knows what to eat for good health: fruits and vegetables, whole grains, protein, etc. The following tips will help your body become better at burning fat.

1. Add more fiber to your diet.

Not only does fiber contribute to your overall good health, it helps your body burn fat. The average American gets about 10 grams a day, which is too little. Aim for about 25 grams of fiber each day.

You can get the fiber you need through whole wheat pastas, breads, and cereals, as well as fruit, vegetables, and nuts. Considering the fat burning abilities of these foods, you can easily find a way to include them into your eating plan.

2. Sensible nighttime munchies.

Eating foods with simple carbohydrates (white breads, pastas, cereals, fruit, or juice) before you go to sleep may increase fat deposits and keep your body from staying in fat burning mode. If you have to eat a bedtime snack, choose a vegetable.

3. Eat less, eat more.

Eating smaller meals throughout the day help stave off hunger and prevent overeating. Because our main courses tend to be heavy foods, like meat, load up on your vegetables before eating your entr?e.

Eating your vegetables first can keep you from overindulging in less healthy foods.

4. Portions, portions, portions!

Americans have a terrible sense of portion control. Develop this skill ? eat until you are satisfied, not stuffed. Use a smaller plate. Eat more slowly. All this can help you from overeating.

5. Eat before you workout.

To help get the maximum benefits from each workout, have a snack that is low in carbs and high in protein. This may help you exercise longer and at a more intense pace ? which means more calories are burned away! Eat your snack ninety minutes before your workout ? any sooner and you’ll get the reverse effect.

Weight loss veterans know that diet is great, but you need exercise to burn fat fast. Your body is made for movement, and exercise provides a vast array of benefits.

6. Use your nose to breathe.

Breathing through your nose helps you maintain a more stable heart rate. This means that you can work out longer ? and of course, burn more calories in the process. It takes some practice, but you’ll love the results.

7. Do interval training.

If you are a walker, try adding periods of more intense activity. Speed up for two minutes, and then walk more slowly for three. As you progress, add more periods of brisk walking and make them last longer.

This benefits your walking routine and can help you ease into jogging or running. Either way, it burns a ton of calories and will help your burn fat fast.

8. Do your weight training first.

When you workout, try doing your weight training first. This will allow your body to warm up for 15-20 minutes, which puts it into fat burning mode. When you’re ready for cardio, your body will already be burning so many calories. As always, stretch before and after you exercise.

9. Variety is the spice of life!

Not only that but it is also the ticket to burning fat faster. Don’t do the same routine everyday.

Mix cardio, strength, and flexibility training. If your body gets used to an exercise, it becomes so efficient at doing it that it doesn’t burn as many calories. You can be working just as hard and not seeing results.

Jumpstart your body by giving it new challenges. Don’t ever let anything get too easy.

10. Add weights to lose weight.

Adding weights to your routine helps you burn more calories and build stronger muscles. Even adding some bicep curls while you’re on your treadmill can help you see results sooner.

These little changes can add up to big weight loss. Remember that you need to work on both diet and exercise in order to burn fat fast.

Check out top fat loss programs like the excellent tom venuto burn the fat. Another good option is no nonsense muscle to try another method to lose weight.
